53% of Children
Live in total poverty. with high rates of homicide, drug dealing, and domestic violence, many children live in fatherless households.
Spectrum Ministries partners with local churches to reach families in our neighborhoods, build relationships, and offer practical hands-on help. We provide families with food and clothing as well as hair washes, haircuts and games for the kids. We share the Gospel through our evangelistic time “Truth of the Day” and offer prayers to those in need. Our goal is for the community to know Christ and experience the love of God.
Many in our neighborhoods suffer with leaky roofs, dirt floors and lack of space. Building a home or doing repairs can provide security and peace. Families can flourish when they have a place to call home.
Each May for over 30 years, Spectrum loads vans, cars and buses with over 150 kids from the orphanages and tough areas of Tijuana, and takes them to Camp Agua Viva (or Living Water). For many it’s the first time in their lives they’ve been able to run around among trees and wildlife. That combined with all the camp games and activities make it the highlight of the year for so many!
We support two different orphanages in Tijuana. We provide food, medical assistance, supplies and small maintenance projects. We show God’s love by being advocates for the children.
Throughout each year, Spectrum hosts groups of volunteers from all over the continent. Whether it’s for a week, a weekend, or just a day, volunteers make all the difference!
Expect to participate in a wide range of ministry activities, from Community Outreach and Visiting Orphanages, to Building a House or Feeding the Residents of the Tijuana Dump!
